법대 4학년 마지막 학기를 앞둔 여름방학. 서영은 생활비와 학비마련을 위해 아르바이트에 열중하던 중, 제주도에서 일하고 있던 엄마의 심장병 소식을 듣게 되고, 비행기 시간에 맞춰가기 위해 다급히 눈앞에 보이는 오토바이를 타고 공항으로 달려간다. 한편, 군복무를 마치고 제대한 우재는 친구를 만나러 강남에 왔다가 눈앞에서 자신의 오토바이를 훔쳐 타고 도망가는 여자를 발견, 쫓아가보지만, 잡지 못한 채 허탕을 치고 돌아온다. 부랴부랴 제주도로 내려간 서영은 병원에 도착하자마자 엄마의 사망소식을 듣고 망연자실해지고, 도박판에 있다 뒤늦게 소식을 듣고 달려온 삼재 역시 큰 충격으로 멍해진다. 장례를 치르고 삼재의 빚까지 갚는 바람에 다시 휴학해야할 상황에 처한 서영은 조교로부터 높은 과외비의 강기범 집 막내아들 성재 과외를 주선 받게 되고, 약속 날짜에 기범의 집을 찾다가 집 앞에서 우재와 마주치게 되는데...

Seo Young files for leave of absence from her school after the funeral and in order to pay her father's debts that have tripled, she will work as a private tutor for Kang Ki Bum's youngest son Seong Jae and while searching for Ki Bum's house, she stumbles into Woo Jae in front of the house and she was made to promise a date with him...
